September 20, 2006 at 1:31 amI don;t have a 380…butI had terrible troubles instlling a Multibridge Extreme PCIe card…until..I switched PCIe slots.
Looks like you have 1xPCIe-16, 1xPCIe-8 (wired as 4) and 1xPCIe-1.
Try taking your graphics card out of the x16 slot and putting it in the x4 slot (dunno if it will work that way). Then put the HDx in the x16 slot.
That’s what I did (except I was lucky in my 690, to have two x16 slots).
Everything seems to be working for me now.

Dell Workstations are not certified for use with DeckLink cards and are currently unsupported. This is mentioned on our list of Certified DeckLink

September 20, 2006 at 1:18 pmThank you! It’s working with the Dell Precision Workstation 690!
But we have problems viewing DPX (HD1080/50i and other modes) footage in Fusion. RAM playback is not working in realtime. “Frame per frame” view is working. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Best regards,

DPX file sequence can be converted into uncompressed video files using Framelink.
To generate a frame link movie – right click in a spare folder with enough room to create a movie.
New > Blackmagic Framelink Movie. Select the preset. You will now see a new drive letter appear – G: for example. Place the dpx sequence in this folder once completed right click and disconnect the drive letter in this case G:
Framelink will then arrange the stills into a motion AVI movie file and be ready for playback.
Playback now should be dependant on your system and you access time from your disk arrays.
Please be aware that Fusion 5.0 is a composition application and not a Printing back to tape.Further configuration options for output from Fusion can be found here.

September 20, 2007 at 8:01 pmHi,
I am using a DELL 690 and when I pooped in the HD extreme card it worked right out of the box with the 5.4 drivers. But then again I wanted to have the latest Decklink drivers (6.4) in order to record compressed HD. What made me a bit nervous was the firmware upgrade during driver installation. After this my graphics card was simply switched off by the decklink card ( I have a nVida quadro NVS 285), the hardware manager reports many hardware conflicts and I cannot capture at all. It does not help to change the slot, by the way. Any help ?
Another question would be this: What is the smallest and most compact PC system you would prefer for the deckklink HD extreme ? I just wanna record compressed HD and edit it later on my workstation.
Regards
Studiosale
