Hi – just wanting to know about the DV performance with Decklink extreme. Most of the work we do now is TVC and we like the decklink for the 10 bit uncompressed quality, not to mention the price of the boards. However we still have a few clients whos work requires editing in Ppro2.0 in plain old PAL DV. Can we still monitor out editing this way and what is the realtime performance like (not to mention quality)

A friend suggested using firewire preview for this but I have found the quality of firewire on a monitor to be awful (not to mention laggy)

    Thanks

    Pablo

We are using Decklink Extreme’s with DV. We capture using a firewire card and edit using PPro 2 and use the Decklink DV setting. We get realtime out to the external monitor and SDI output.

    So…. GO FOR IT!

    THanks Baz,

Decklink certainly looks the way to go.

    Cheers
