  • Decklink 5.0 Windows & Premier Pro 1.5.1 – crashout during project opening

Posted by Christopher Tay on July 13, 2005 at 2:43 am

    Hi,

I just did an update to Decklink 5.0 Windows and now when I open an existing project or open a newly created project, Premier Pro will report that it has encountered a problem that forces it to shutdown. It will then quit to the desktop.

I removed Decklink 5.0 and it now launches properly. I reinstalled Decklink 4.8 and the problem doesn’t show up.

    Any advise ?

    Thanks,

    -chrispy

    Hi Chris,

Can you give me a run down on the system?

Also can you check with Blackmagic DeckControl application and see if that does the same thing?

    Cheers,

    Regards,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

The system is a BOXX PC running dual AMD Opteron 250s processors with 4GB RAM under WinXP SP2. It has a NVIDIA Quadro FX4000 graphics card and a RAIDCore SATA RAID card.

The Deck Control application works fine. It’s only when you try to open a project or a new project, it will then report that it has encountered a serious problem and causing Premier Pro to shutdown.

I have no problem as well with AfterEffects 6.5. It’s only with Premier Pro 1.5.1.

Also, it has been working fine with Decklink 4.8 drivers.

What version of DirectX do you have installed ? The one shipped with Adobe ? Problems are often created by software you installed after Premiere…

Hate to be the odd man out, but I’m getting the same problem on my dual Xeon workstation
I currently have 2 decklink extreme setups, the Tyan/NVidia Geforce based station works like a charm on the ver5 drivers. Unfortunately, the Supermicro/ATI based station gets the serious error crash. Could it be graphics card based?
