  • Decklink 3D issues with FCP.

We have serious issues with 3 MacPro’s. 2 latest generation. 1 previous.
    All running 10.6.4 / FCP 7.03 / 16GB ram/ Decklink driver 7.9.3, Direct Fibre storage.
All source footage is converted to ProRes HQ and edited in ProRes HQ timeline.

These systems give random FCP crashes, Out of memory issues, Green flashes, when playing, scrolling in timeline and most of all when rendering.

I am very familiar with these issues and what to do about it most of the time, but the weird thing is:

All the mentioned problems DISAPPEAR when the EXTERNAL VIDEO is set to OFF.
When setting the External video back ON, outputting through the Decklink card, they instantly re-appear.
Or replacing the Decklink with an AJA card also was a great fix. ( it’s true )

Our playback settings are properly matched with the timeline.
We have lots of good experience with FCP/Decklink configurations, but these problems are going through the roof.

It would be great to have some feedback on these issues. Because replacing the cards with AJA cards is not really a solution for these new Decklink cards.
