Decklink + 10.3.9 + FCP 4.5 + QT 7?
I’ve got a g5 with OS X 10.3.9 (I know 10.3.8 is recommended but it seems to work just fine) and I’m running FCP 4.5 with a Decklink card with no problems. Now I’m about to install DVD Studio pro 4 which I’m pretty sure requires QT 7.
I remember there being an issue with this combination some time back but a search turned up nothing. Am I safe to go ahead with this?

Not safe. There are major issues with that combo. It will not be supported. To run QT7 you need to go to tiger and upgradde FCP to 5.

That would definitely not only be a combination that we don’t support but I’m not aware of FCP 4.5 being verified for use with QuickTime 7 and so anything could happen. It’s a good idea to run the same vintage of software together so either FCP 4.5 and the previous version of DVD Studio Pro with QuickTime 6.5.2 or else FCP 5.0 with DVD Studio Pro 4.0 and QuickTime 7.
