Deck Link HD upgrade?
I’ve been using the Intensity Pro Card for some time now and have nothing but success with it. However, its about time I think about upgrading. I’ve been told many times that the Deck Link HD Extreme is going to be the next step for me. However, I have a few questions. Amongst other things, I’ll be using the Deck Link for HD accurate monitoring on a JVC broadcast monitor via HD-SDI and client monitor via HDMI. I’ll also need accurate SD monitoring. Should that be done through SDI as well? Or will component be fine? Does this card come with SDI cables?
Also, others have told me to upgrade to a Kona 3 card. However, we spend that much. What will I be missing by not moving towards Kona? I do a lot of work with P2 and 720p24PN footage. How will the Deck Link handle 24p footage. From the site specs, it says about removing pulldown, although the PN footage is native 23.98, but can this card add pulldown back in for outputting to tape and broadcast?
