I am trying to set up a new FCP station. We have the latest FCP 6.0. We are using the Decklink Extreme HD running version 6.2 of the software.

The problem is that I cannot get deck control through FCP. I have used Blackmagic 8 bit as the device control setting and Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 59.94 when connecting to a Sony M2000 Digibeta and Sony HDCAM-SR respectively. I can see and control either machine when i use the Blackmagic Deck Control Application but i can’t get control in Final Cut. I am using the standard 9 pin remote cable.

I have tried two different cables to eliminate problems there. I have uninstalled version 6.2 of the Blackmagic software and went back to 6.0 (that it shipped with) and that didn’t help!

I am running out of time to set this up before I need to start using the system. Any help on this would be EXTREMELY appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Jason

You could try to make some of your own device control presents to see if you can get one to work, but from what you’ve said, it should be working, at least on one of the two decks.

Has the card ever worked? The card could have a bad serial port connector. You might try to contact whoever sold you the card or Blackmagic and see what other options you have.

    Good luck!
