Just picked up a used Sony PVM-20L5 CRT.

It was a hassle and expensive to have it shipped the way the selling company wanted to ship it (on a pallet). I also ripped the thing apart to replace an internal card so that the unit would address a BKM-143 HD-SDI option card.

Now that it is all said and done, I am seeing a single dead scan line (for lack of a better term) about 1/3 of the way up on active video.

Before I fight-the-good-fight to get my money back, pack it back up, put it back on a pallet, etc., are there any thoughts about what level of repair it might take to have this fixed?

To add to the above information, I now see a companion “dead line” also on the bottom third of screen. To my eye it looks spaced just as far from the bottom as the first one I noticed is from the top of the screen. Now the pair oddly seem like they serve a purpose (though I have no idea what). The lines are only seen with HD feeds, not SD.

    Thoughts?
