    Hello,

I’m wondering if this has come up in the forum before — managing SD footage to be upconverted to a HD edit sequence in FCP. I have a blackmagic decklink card and a 90 min program w/ special filters. The project was shot in 16:9, and is going to be upconverted to HD. W/ the effects and color space of HD, I think we can make it look real good despite it’s original format. What I need to know is
    1. the least number of steps to make this look right (no artifacting w/ interlace problem)
    * I’ve noticed that I have to add a deinterlace filter; when going from SD — CCR 6601 pixels to square pixels… and also the upper and lower field.. so I’ve put it into a 59.94 sequence to get rid of the field dominance
2.I add a gaussian blur and a sharpen filter, and then render it out to an uncompressed hd quicktime sequence – 29.97 upper field, is that the best way to to it? I still see some interlacing problems!

    Thanks so much!

    best,

    lili
