.dds File assembly
I found some great Satellite files of the earth but they are in .dds format. I am on a Mac and can use Graphics converter to convert the .dds to tiffs or targas.
However, the really hi rez files that I want to use are broken up into multiple files. There are about 2500 of these .dds files numerically indexed in a folder. Has anyone had experience with these type of files? Is there a Mac solution for automatically “stitching” this 2500 files together?
I need to start far and zoom in really close so I need to use the highest rez.

Did you ever find a solution? What was your source? I’m assembling the TrueMarble 250m .png tileset in C4D at the minute, but I can’t find a specular map that even comes close to the resolution that isn’t in a .dds format.
