DDP for Replicator
Posted by Keith Bradley on April 24, 2014 at 5:13 pmHey, I’m trying to make a master DVD that will be sent to a duplicator and eventually sold in stores etc. My question is an old one. Will Encore be able to produce a DDP that a major duplicator like Cinram can work with. I have posted this question to Cinram as well. I’m reading alot are saying that Encore is not up to spec on this.
Thanks!

April 25, 2014 at 4:50 pmHi Eric I don’ understand. I have created what looks like a proper DDP that has a folder with a CONTROL.DAT, DDIP, MAIN.DAT. What’s missing?

April 26, 2014 at 3:48 amYou’ll be fine
Make sure you get Check Discs before the run. I’ve seen a client blow $20k when the replicator screwed the job and then played the blame game 🙂

May 4, 2014 at 7:36 pmHi Keith,
I myself am in the position of sending a DDP fileset for mastering. I’ve send a small example project of 750Mb to the manufacturer for him to run some tests (especially for the macrovision integration), and it seemed to work.
I will send the final DDP set in about a week, I’ll tell you how it worked out!
