DCVPRO HD 24p Lip Sync Issue
Hey,
I have an issue that is recurring and I can’t figure it out. I digitize DVCPRO HD 1080i60 24p video (audio is digitized 24-bit 48KHZ) and the QT files are perfect. Then I bring the QT files into FCP and drop it on a timeline (settings based on source media) and the lip sync is off. It is only marginally off and doesn’t slip over the length of the timeline, instead it is uniformly off by 6 frames (which is just about the difference between 23.98 and 29.97)?! What gives? Coincidence? At any rate, if I export a cut from my timeline, the resulting QT file is in sync and perfect. Any ideas?

Did you shoot 24p, or 24pA? Are you working in a 29.97 or 23.98 timeline?
