Hey, I wanted to take some old VHS tapes and edit them for someone. Does Dazzle DVC100 capture device work with sony vegas 10? Because I’ve tried and it says it’s not recognized. just wanted to know how I would be able to capture these old tapes without installing pinnacle studio.
    Thanks in advance!

It has been my experience that hardware from Pinnacle is proprietary and does not work without the Pinnacle software (by design). If you don’t like Pinnacle software, I recommend you not buy their hardware. Perhaps you can sell the Dazzle on eBay and get a better capture device like the Canopus ADVC55. Otherwise, you’ll have to install the Pinnacle software to capture with Dazzle.

Thank you sir. I’d rather not install another program and or buy anything else at this point. So I’m just not going to do it.

If you have a camcorder that does analog to digital conversion, you could use that. My Sony FX1 allows both composite and s-video inputs and outputs to DV format. Other camcorders do this as well, you could try something like that if you are lucky enough to have one of these type camera….good luck.
