    Happy newyear to all,
Got some shots I shot during the day inside, I want to make it look like its night out any suggestions?
I have Magic Bullet, but cant seem to get the look I want with the night filter, way to blue..
    Any ideas would be great.
    Thanks
    THew

take a dark blue solid and overlay it over the original footage. You could also slap some cooling filters on it, and in 3 way color corrector you could map whites to a bluish tint and darken mids.

Since time in memoriam the video solution that first comes to mind is to duplicate your video clip clean without your effect and place it above your clip with the effect. You can then mix back in some original color using opacity.

Other things that you can try beside the opacity of the clip above the other one is to experiment with the Composite Mode like Screen, Overlay, Multiply, etc. and adjust with opacity.

Also try swapping the clip with the effect with the clip clean and control with the Composite Mode and Opacity.

it’s fine if things look too clear to have actually been shot in night, is my opinion. As long as you still get the feel of nighttime, nobody can really distinguish between the two.

What about the case where two interviews were shot in an office in front of a window as the outside light changed?

The first person was shot while it was light out and it gets progressively darker outside. By the time the second person was shot it was pretty dark outside.

The scene outside is a cityscape, from a pretty high floor. Both subjects were lit very well.

I only need a few minutes for the final piece but I would like to be able to use the earlier footage if possible.

Is there an effective way to darken the background scene to match the later footage?

    Thanks in advance,

    J
