  • Day rates?

It’s been a while since I’ve heard what a standard day rate should be for a very good camera op. I specialize in cinematic (single camera) style shooting, and can shoot an entire sequence with multiple angles and blocking without missing a beat. I shoot almost entirely on DSLR rigs with sound, but I also have my own gear… Arri light kit, Sennheiser wireless mics and boom mic, 20 foot jib with pan and tilt control, Steadicam for DSLR and EX sized cameras, Cinerails dolly and track, 8×8 scrim, reflectors, high hat, etc. I feel like my current day rate is way below the standard that even less experienced camera ops are getting, and I don’t want to undercut the market. I’m looking for suggestions on what my day rate should be. Here’s a link to some of my work:

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hey Danny,

A few years back, constructing a bid I recall a nominal day rate for budget projects being $500, half or full day per operator.

That being said, these days working with non profits, the whole project might be bid for that amount.

Could be dated info or not.
