DAW of Vegas
Posted by Richard Milner on January 16, 2013 at 8:52 pmIs it possible to record audio with Vegas? I want to record an incoming audio feed but I don’t know if the Vegas package will do it? All I know to do is import the track in.
If so, can you point me in that direction?
Blessings!

Vegas 1.0 started out as an audio only DAW. It did do video until Vegas Video 2.0 and it still has better audio capabilities than any other NLE on the market. So it is an extremely capable DAW.

You press the ARM button on the tracks that you want to record on. Then assign the audio input channel for each track and finally press the record button to record.

January 18, 2013 at 8:06 pmI have used Vegas extensively for recording. Though in recent years, not so much. It crashed during a recording session once, but oddly, only some background process crashed, so I didn’t actually see it fail (I was probably doing too much… along with the multitrack recorder, I had a field recording and two camcorders running). So I’ve been using another program for critical, on-site multitrack recording.
I’m probably still going to use Vegas if I’m just recording something at my regular desktop PC. And while I have a bunch of other DAW tools (Sonar, Acid, Reaper), I still tend to do mixes in Vegas.

January 20, 2013 at 3:22 pmthe problem I am having is the record won’t arm so I can record. The mixer of my sound card is there to let this work but the record won’t arm.
Shalom and Grace to you!
Richard
