    Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a HP Dreamcolour Z24x for colour grading. I will eventually buy a Decklink to use with it but for now I am using it as the primary monitor from my graphics card. I am a little confused about the colour space I should be using on my monitor. If I use the Rec709 preset on my monitor, the GUI in Davinci is clearly too dark and data is lost in my video despite it being rec709 content. Am I to believe that in the GUI at least, Davinci converts rec709 to srgb for use on standard monitors? And if so, is there a way for me to grade in davinci whilst using my rec709 profile on my monitor?

    Thanks for your help!

In order to do that you will need to use a CMS (colour management system), profile the DaVinci GUI video display with a probe, create a calibration LUT, and then load the LUT in the resolve settings under GUI display lut.
