    Hi.
I have a question because in the Davinci Resolve manual stands that you need one graphics card just for CUDA and one for the GUI.
Since i want to build up a new computer for Resolve i want to know, that if i buy this mainboard: https://geizhals.at/eu/669685 with this CPU https://geizhals.at/eu/580332 – than i have a gpu onto my cpu. can i use this one for the GUI on Resolve? And for example a GTX570 for CUDA (and not connected to the Monitor)?

    you know what i mean 🙂 ?

    hi,

have you tried the Davinci Win Config guide? This includes all the officially tested, and advised computers/components.

In my experience, I tried a Hackintosh (OSX) with a GTX480 alone, or GTX480 + GT220, and the latest setup was unstable. I did the same test later with Windows 7 and both setups had the same performance.

Maybe there is some setting I forgot, it wasn’t a thorough test, but in my experience it’s better to keep it simple if you’re not following the guide.

    Rodrigo.

Resolve looks at which GPU is powering the Windows GUI, and then selects the other one for its image processing. So if you can get Windows to use the integrated GPU, then Resolve will use the Nvidia card for its heavy lifting.

In general with a hackintosh all of the GPU’s should be the same for stability.

is this (GUI is passed, the other one is taken) also true for let’s say a Quadro4000 which is said to be suitable “for both GUI and/or render”.

so the cuda capabilitites of the GUI card won’t help, too?

    hi
    do you know…
Is this in general, or just for Hackintoshes?
    A real mac wouldn’t bother?
