September 1, 2010 at 1:02 amHi Margus,
One of the pitfalls of certifying disk arrays is that there are so many brands and models of disk arrays that one could spend an endless amount of time testing and certifying every variant that exists. So the guide mentions just a few that we’ve certified but also mentions “Almost any storage, designed for Mac OS X and high bandwidth media, will be suitable for use with Resolve.”
In other words if you already have a disk array that is suitable for capture and playback of uncompressed video, it should be perfect for use with Resolve for Mac.

September 1, 2010 at 1:17 amJust saw this and figured those with HDMI blues might be interested:

If you do the whole “email me a better price” it comes out to be only $440, free shipping, and depending on where you are, no tax. Not bad!

September 1, 2010 at 10:09 pmDo you know if a 1920×1080 screen is absolutely necessary?

Thanks for mentioning the SuperShare model as I hadn’t noticed it and it does look very interesting given it connects directly to PCI Express.

September 2, 2010 at 5:34 amHi Illya,
Resolve 7.0 is currently locked to either a 1920 x 1080 or 1920 x 1200 interface. There are many things we’d like to add to Resolve once the initial version has been released and perhaps support for larger 27″ and 30″ monitors is something we can look at.

September 2, 2010 at 2:44 pmI was actually interested in smaller displays. Haha. My large monitors seem to be getting in the way these days.

September 2, 2010 at 2:48 pmI think you should go back to the daVinci Renaissance Classic interface that was just fine on a 14″ black and white crt. And for some unknown or poorly understood reason, we were still able to do color correction.

September 2, 2010 at 3:00 pmYeah, the 1920×1080 seems a bit overkill considering it’s just the interface. Color works perfect on a couple Dell 2007wfp’s with the height adjustment and angle set just below your eye level.
