We have just posted DaVinci Resolve 8.2 beta 4 for Mac, Windows and Linux and also the Lite versions for Mac and Windows. https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/
Beta 4 includes support for Final Cut Pro X XML1.1 including import of color, sizing, opacity and composite mode settings from FCP X. It also corrects some issues we had with beta 3 and includes general stability improvements.

I just make the jump from version 8.1.1 to beta 4, and my feeling is that everything is more fluid consumes more resources than before rather more of gpu and cpu, even without nodes applied.

h264 consume more resources than RED footage, at least with respect to version 8.1.1

And my problem is that QuickTime X player did not open, and my icon is gone after rebooting.
    I am now using QuickTime7.

    Anyone experiencing the same problem?

Would you recommend updating to the beta from 8.1.1 (Mac)? Or remaining on the latest release build?

Is DaVinci using it’s own ProRes codec even on the mac? My ProRes rendered files now show up as apch in the format field in QT.

In Windows version don’t work proxy generation, if enter path directory to settings-> Proxy files stored at:

Can’t create folder with “x:” and write error

On mac this function work fine.

Nope. That’s how ProRes is referred to internally.
