  • DaVinci Resolve 10 – cannot auto sync video w/ audio

    Hi all,

I’m using DaVinci Resolve Lite, the most updated version, for auto syncing .wav files with R3D footage. I’ve followed instructions based on the manual, but my issue is as follows:

When taking my AUDIO bin and placing it into my VIDEO bin, with all footage and audio, I follow instructions to right-click and select “Auto-Sync Audio based on Timecode.” However, when I do this…nothing happens. Wouldn’t Resolve at least tell me if it wouldn’t work? I get no confirmation or error. I get nothing. As you can tell I’m rather amateur to this program, and still trying to research into what might be wrong. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Are you sure your audio files have TC in them?

I bet there is TC shift or TC missing.

Make sure you right click ON the FOLDER name in the Media Pool column, and not right click in the area where the clips are listed.

**There’s actually an app called DreamSync, a standalone application that’s built for the novice user as well as professionals. It syncs your footage and audio into one single clip so that it can then be imported into applications like iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut X, or any other editing suite.

Both apps are effective depending on your editing workflow and how much (or little) time you want to dedicate to learning another interface for syncing audio/video footage.
