  • DaVinci failed to encode the video frame – Resolve 11

    Hello,

We are running Resolve 11 full version on a 2.7 GHz Mac 12 Core, Version 10.9.4. Processing Sony XAVC UHD footage to export MXF DNxHD 1080p dailies, with synced production sound – 2 track wav files.

When we export, we get the error message: Failed to Encode the Video Frame. Seen this before – but only if we exported to a users profile that is not open (we aren’t doing this) or if there isn’t space on the target drive (but there is).

If we turn the audio export off, the MXF picture will export. Or if we switch the video format to prores with audio, the export will also work fine.

Finally, if we export individual files to MXF with sound, some of them will export, but some will get the error message (about 30%).

Also, if we change the audio bit depth to 16-bit, the transcode proceeds without a problem. Despite the fact that the original audio files are in fact 24-bit to start with.

My thought, of course – some problem with the audio copied, but we retransfered audio from the source files, and it has occurred across multiple mags.

Any thoughts on what we might be doing wrong here?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Hello Stephen,

Exact same situation here (except Resolve lite 11…)
Every other cards worked except this one…
    Have you solve your problem?
    If yes, how?
    Thanks,

    Simon

Did either of you ever find a solution to this?

    Thanks,
    Jay
