    Hello,

I have 6 reels that I’m exporting from Resolve which are entirely made up of R3D’s, I’ve managed to export 5 of the reels but 1 in particular keeps crashing on me. DaVinci simply quits without warning and then doesn’t even tell me its happened. Any thoughts as to why it’s occurring?

    Cheers,

    Will

Couple of mechanisms might be responsible.

Can you tell if it crashes at some specific point in the timeline?

Are all the file names legal in that reel?

Are all the media types legal– codec, resolution, frame rate…?

    Using noise reduction?
    OFX Plugins?
    Other GPU Memory hogs?

That would be the first thing I look at. Especially with 4 or 5K source some of these things are really memory intensive for the GPU, and resolve doesn’t handle running out of GPU memory during render very gracefully.

If thats not the issue, i’d look for a piece of problematic media. Mark in and out points at halfway marks and “divide and conquer” to isolate the problem.

    Just some thoughts.
