Has anyone out there had a problem with their Date/Time resetting everytime you restart. I have a fairly new G5 and recently when I boot the computer up I get an error saying that my time has reset. It shows up as 1969 7:03pm(Maybe thats when Steve Jobs thought of Apple or something). Any tips?

Would the date happen to be July 16th, 1969? Just a guess.

At any rate, it sounds like you have a bad battery. Check out this link:

    https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86790

And scroll down for the section on “Replacing your Battery.” It’s basically a little watch battery that helps the computer remember the time while it’s off. I’d say that’s your most likely problem.

My guess is that its Dec. 31st. if it is and its not the battery (which it probably is) then its a PAIN…. I had that issue on a G4 a few years ago… lets all hope the battery is the fix.

    Thanks,
    Harry.

I’m going out right now to get a battery and see if that’s the problem. Thanks for all the advice.
