Hi all… im doing a work that involves loads of date random animation. I used the “Numbers” text plugin that comes with ae, everything cool till here, the thing is: as im doing it for a local tv they have their own format when showing dates.. the format that “numbers” plugin uses in it´s long version is: sunday,26 april 2008… y need to use this format: SUNDAY 26… JUST THAT but keeping all the random in the animations that i´ve made till now… im not able to change the format… if anybody knows if it possible to change it and which is the way to customize it would be very appreciate…

cheers Dave..it´s allmost what i´ve done… the thing is that by default in the numbers plugin, the characters are in small caps and i want them as all caps, any way i´ve solved it by changing a bit the animation. Just in case, for next time: do you know if you can edit the way the format is preset? I mean to change from small caps to all caps or to change the coma, between the dates for “2points” : ,etc?? it will help to customize the animation.. thanks a lot for your advice

cheers again… the thing is that i have a huge video wall with images on each section of the video wall and an animation of random date in each one till stops on the right one… imagine an image of barcelona´s olympic games… and when de camera gets on that screen im doing an animation of ramdom date from the date of the image before to the proper one.. any way i´ve solved it in another way. It was just to know, for other time, if there was a way to customize this effect cause is cool to random bwteen days, months years with just a layer. cheers anyway Dave!! maybe i can´t explain my self well in english

I’m not at my AE machine at the moment but the last time I used that plugin it took the formatting from, of all places, the date-time system prefs control panel.

[rafa calleja] “hey!!! ur a real master!! “

Blush, thanks for the kind words. But I’m just a kid compared to the other guys who answer the tough questions.
This is just one I remember form my own deeply weird experience with the date formatting.
