I am setting up a storage system to service several editors. The content is Sony EX Cam HD footage 1080 30p- Each stream 35 Mbits/sec. We plan on doing multicam editing which will mean that 6 streams will be playing back at the same time. Our content will be streamed over a Gigabit network from a server that is connected via 10Gb Ethernet. Has anyone done something like this and are there any gotchas we need to be aware of?
Thanking you in advance for your advice and comments.

There’s a few variables in there. Some would find AppleProRes (you can use LT) easier to handle but that’ll use more bandwidth. Sure EX uses less bandwidth but the computer playing has to decode six GOP based streams. You’re going to have to run a test to see what’s the best way to go. Your connection is as fast as your slowest link.

I’d recommend that you post your question in the Cow’s SAN forum as well.
