I’m using MC 2.8.4 with Adrenaline and have started getting the following error message:

“Data loss has been detected on the 1394 bus and the capture process has been interupted.”

I have tried changing ports and cables and nothing works. I have no trouble going the other way with a digital cut.

    Any iseas?

    Mark,

Are you using the 1394 system bus or an add-in 1394 card for capturing? If you have a separate card, try rebooting and switching inputs to this card for capture. You can even try unplugging the Adrenaline box to see if that works.

Is your Avid connected to the internet or other network via the ethernet cable? Try unplugging it and see if your interrupts go away.

Other than that, make sure that you have “capture over timecode breaks” ON, in case your timecode is bilious for any reason.

    Joe,
Thanks for the response. I have tried both buses. I’ve unplugged the network cable. I’ve rolled back the computer to a known working condition, I’ve reseated the cards in both the Adrenaline and the HP and still not working. I can only assume the Adrenaline is the issue.

Unless you have another idea. Thanks again.

OK, I know this is elementary, and I know you’re the kind of guy who checks all the bases…but, have you replaced the 1394 cable? Have you tried capturing to the Avid with the Adrenaline box turned off? I would recommend deleting the deck configurations and reassigning them using the “Add Channel” and “Autoconfigure” to see if the computer is in fact seeing the deck/camera. If this doesn’t work, I would try uninstalling the deck/camera at the Windows device manager level, and let the computer “find” it again.

All this to try and weed out what may be an Adrenaline box issue. You don’t want to have to replace the box if it’s not the problem!

    Regards,

    Joe
