data corruption on hard drive during power loss disruption
Hello,
I read somewhere that if data is being transferred to an external hard drive (let’s suppose P2 data is being transferred) and this transfer is disrupted by a power loss or a surge, the entire drive may become “corrupt.”
Has anyone ever experience this situation?
In this light, would it be a good idea to get an UPS power backup such as this?:

A possibility though most hard drives can recover without a problem. Still a UPS is a great idea to have.

In my case the hard drive is a lacie 1TB and a 500GB and I was reading up on the lacie community posts and some of them complain about corruption during power loss.
