Data Asset Management
I’m new to the world of P2 as most are. I began a new position in which I’m going to be shooting many video clips (mxf format) for various projects in the coming year. I’d like to archive this video and retrieve it in the future (even several years after which it was shot). I’m currently creating metadata before each shoot using the SD card on the HVX-200. What is the best solution to use that will keep track of all my footage(and projects) and one that I can easily retrieve the archived footage? I’m using a Dell workstation with the Adobe Masters Collection. I will most likely be archiving to a server or external HD.

P2CMS or one of the Imagine products would be a good place to start. There are probably also other footage tracking programs for Windows out there.
