I am trying to connect up a Fostex D30 dat recorder to my FCP setup but am having problems getting the setup to work.

Has anybody managed to connect one of these and if so – please get in touch…you might be able to steer me in the right direction.

    thanks

Can’t control it? or can’t capture? or? I don’t have one of these decks, but would think you should be able to use it… RS-422 control and use a capture card to capture the analog outs?

In my “Good old linear days” we a Fostex TC dat (can’t remember the model) that we could never controll. Had to buy a Sony 7030 which worked great. Not much help in your case but it may be a lost cause. I would suggest looking for a work around as we wasted weeks trying to get our fostex to work.

I have a fostex d10 which is controlable via rs422 with the time code board, but I do not go that rout any more I use my D9 deck and copy the audio via the serial digital output and run the timecode in from the dat to the D9 deck, you can use your ballance audio and timecode out to do the same. I allways have problem with fostex deck menue my pd2 is a nightmare but when I use it I carefuly read the manual and it works good luck.
