    Hi Scott,
You can try those effects on a solid… :
Trapcode Particular (basic preset)) + Radial Blur (Zoom) +CC Radial Fast Blur (or Trapcode Shine) + CCToner…
At the top of them, create a black solid with a mask.
    😉

You can use Trapcode Shine or some radial blurs for the lights in the BG, it all depends on the logo and what you want the lights to look like.

Just use Shatter for the breaking apart. If you need it to break apart at different times like the trailer, build your image in pieces in photoshop so you can choose which parts you want to shatter at which times.

Just a wiggle expression for camera shake.

I am trying to do the exact same thing, the only thing I can’t get in Trapcode Particular are the short bursts of light, the long ones I’ve nailed, any suggestions on what settings to use in particular for that? Thanks and sorry for jumping in

Just for fun, I recreated the effect for you using Trapcode Particular and Trapcode lux. It is not perfect, but very close approximate for the effect. The only thing I would change, had I more time would be to change the flare. I used lux, but a customized Knoll light flare, as said above, would be better and offer more control.

    I hope this helps.

All of the particle layers are linked to the rotation of the null layer named “Particle Rotation” so to move the direction of the entire effect, just adjust the x and y rotation.

    Hi Mike,

I’d love to look at it but MediaFire is saying:

“This file is currently set to private. This error has been forwarded to MediaFire’s development team. When a file is set to private by its owner only the owner of the file can access it. If you are the owner of the file please log into your account to access this file.”

Can you zip and email me the project file?

Sorry about that. I moved some stuff around in my media fire account and i guess i must have changed the setting. Here is an updated link. I would love some feedback.

    Cheers,

    Hi Mike,

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you, I’ve been deep in another project.

When I opened your AEP file, it appears you used some plugins that I have own on my system, so all I am seeing is the black logo over the blue bkgnd. Can you post a Quicktime movie for me to look at?
