Dangers of very large projects?
Has anyone ever had an AE file to get corrupted all of the sudden?
I have a huge file that I’m currently working with and I’m a tad nervous that one day won’t be able to open it. I can’t split it into multiple smaller ones because a lot of the comps and footage is used several times, so revisions would mean to revise all the files instead of just one.
I never ever have had an AE file die on me, but this file is truly testing the limits.
Thoughts and comments welcome.

The one thing you should absolutely do is to make incremental saves as you work on it. Multiple copies of the file will save you from the time you make new revisions, then go to open it up, and it won’t open. This has nothing to do with the size of the file – I’ve had good luck with large projects, but that doesn’t mean that you will. It all depends on the media, plugins, and procedures you use. Keeping the last file you worked on successfully is insurance that you can go back should the next version fail to open.

Walter, 380 comps and counting. Roughly 80 mb in size and now it’s taking about 6 seconds to save.
Kevin, I haven’t got a corrupted file yet, I’m just trying to plan ahead before it happens.Incremental saving would be an option, I always keep at least 5 auto-save files that are generated every five minutes, I’m covered that way.
