Damn autosave stops working and I’m pissed
I just lost over an hour of editing work because FCP X had stopped saving my edits for some reason. This isn’t the first time it happens; the telltale sign is when the undo feature stops working. I’ve read about others being hit with the same bug. After quitting FCP X and relaunching it, autosave and undo were still not working. I had to quit FCP X again and relaunch multiple times for it to start working properly.
Any idea of what might be causing this? I like the design of FCP X but I’ve been avoiding using it for anything major because of instabilities like this.

Have you upgraded to 10.0.1?
Are you on OS 10.7.1? -
This happened once to me but it was around the first week.
Now during FCPX time, I will check the dates on my Events and Project files to see if its updating.
Now since that first time, I havent ran into that problem. -
I upgraded to 10.0.1, but I am still on Snow Leopard.
By the way, it happened again, I just lost another 30 minutes of work. I can’t believe this!

Have you tried to duplicate your project when you notice that the Undo feature isn’t working (before quitting)? This is not a solution to why autosave isn’t working for you, but it may help prevent you from losing work each time it does.
