Damaged Project files
Posted by Steve James on December 13, 2007 at 6:26 pmDoes anyone know how to repair a damaged project file for premiere pro 2.0…. I tried a system restore and still the same result. Just curious if anyone here has experienced this and have had a success… thanks

December 13, 2007 at 7:24 pmPremiere Pro usually creates ‘auto-save’ files. Have you tried opening those up? If that doesn’t work, create a new project and import the corrupted project into the new one.

Best bet would be to open the latest autosave version. (There will be missing editing but you’ve got a point to start from at least).

December 14, 2007 at 5:01 pmI know you got it working, but if it happens again, you can try using an XML editor to open the project and try to repair it. I’ve been told that XML wrench works https://www.xmlwrench.com. I have not used it myself, but it can’t hurt to try (just do a “save as”).
