  D-9 workflow with LHe

  I’m looking into purchasing an LHe for capturing from a JVC BR-D85 via SDI for video. I am aware of the digital audio conflict and plan on using the analog audio. My question is what codec should I capture with. I’m guessing the DV50 codec? Uncompressed is not needed, as I do not wish to deal with the storage requirements.
  Does D-9 use the DV50 codec when it records?
  What kind of data is transferred over SDI? Is it a D-9 stream, or does it get converted to some other data stream only to be re-compressed with the KONA?
  Will the image degrade with this workflow?

  G5 quad 2GB
  KONA LHe
  FW800 G-RAID
  Sony PVM-14L5 for monitoring
  JVC BR-D85
