Cutting up video clip
I work for a professional sports team. Normally, we get separate clips for every highlight from each game. However, with the world the way it is, we will be getting one big rip with everything in one big clip. I want to subclip it into each individual shot, but I want to actually create new clips and not just subclip inside a program. Back in the day, our “melts” came on XDCAM disk and we used XDCAM transfer to break each game into subclips. Anyone have any suggestions for software that will allow me to break a clip into hundreds of smaller subclips?

Are you looking to cut it and then creating an actual clip after?
Or are you looking for something like scene detection (Resolve)?
you can still use subclips in Premiere then batch render them. -
We usually get 250-300 clips per game, so I want to cut the one big rip we are getting into many separate clips. I’d love to use scene detection as long as I end up with separated clips. We edit in Premiere, so that may be the answer.

only the premiere beta version has scene detection right now. you can also xml scene detect from resolve

Ooh, I didn’t know that?
Well, that would help some colleagues of mine.
If you end up using Resolve then XML to Premier, maybe you can export that as separate clips.
