A long time ago….in a little program now long since forgotten…called Alias Sketch..you could add an isoparm to a nurb and move it up and down the length of a nurbs object to any position you wanted… Then you could cut the nurbs object at that point making it two objects. Is this sort of process possible in C4D without converting the object to a poly?

I loved the flexibility of that form of nurbs modeling but it doesnt seem quite as flexible and obvious in c4d.

    Thanks
    Brett

No, not really possible to do it that way in Cinema. If you want to keep it parametric you’d have to split the spline or splines that make up the NURBS object.
