I’m trying to cut a clip from V1 on the timeline and paste it to V3 in a different spot. It seems to always paste to V1. I don’t want to overwrite the video on V1. I know that I can edit a clip from the viwer to whichever track I want by selecting the track tab on the left side of teh timeline. Is there any way to do this with cutting and pasting?

    Thanks

Switch the autoselect buttons to the desired tracks. Little black right just to the left of the timeline window area. The clips will paste to the same track they came from or to the lowest autoselected track. (This behavior is dependent on the version you’re using.)

    All the best,
