cutting a piece of timeline with several tracks

CS3 you’ll want to razor cut by the position of the CTI. Ctl+K (Apple+K on Mac). If you lock layers you don’t want cut you only cut everything else. This function you want (select/highlight multiple tracks) is in CS4.
