cut video separate from audio
I am editing a wedding. There is a clip with live music as the bride groom and maids and gents walk off stage. I am trying to leave the audio in tact and hit out dead space in the video. Used to be able to do this in FC7. Damn it.

You could:
– Detach the audio
– Add another instance of video only to the timeline
– Cut the current video and add another instance of the audio only to the timeline
– Copy the clip, paste as connected, mute (turn off) the audio on the clip, and edit
– Create a split edit send stretch the original audio out to the desired duration and edit the remaining video out.
