Cut IN and OUT points simultaneously?
I have a clip in the Sequence. I set my IN an OUT points in the middle of this clip. I want to cut at both the in and out points simultaneously (preferably with a shortcut), so I can then ramp speed on this new clip. Does this exist in Premiere Pro CC 2016?
*Is there a function to cut at both in and out?
Right now I’m cutting at IN point then moving over to OUT and cutting again. As always, just trying to save a few clicks 😉

I haven’t stumbled upon such a feature. The keyboards shortcuts for go to in/out is shift+i/o so it doesn’t need that many key presses. Or you could cut as you go with a keyboard shortcut instead of using the blade tool.

Cool, yea I’m using those. It’s just interesting they have lift and extract but not “split” or something of the like. Thanks!

If you go to the IN point and LIFT the marked area…
(leaving a gap)
then (assuming your tracks are patched properly)

does this get you what you want? (lift should put your lifted clip in the clipboard)

Thanks Alex, but it’s just as many clicks as cutting at in and out. I just didn’t know if my desired action was called something I was unaware of.

So roll up to the IN point and Cmmd K. Roll up to the out point and Q.
