custom templates – sometimes previews save, sometimes not
When I create custom templates for a FCP project, sometimes the template saves a preview file after modification in Motion, sometimes not.
Since this preview file generation can take a minute or so, it can become time consuming when working with multiple templates on a timeline. I am curious as to how Motion decides to save some templates instantly while requiring the preview save process on others.
Is there a way to predictably save (or not) the preview file? I know that I get the choice when doing a “Save as Template” but I don’t like that it won’t show me a proper file requester using that option. It becomes laborious to manually type out the template name if modifying a previously created template.
If I do a regular old Command-S save I am not given the option to save the preview file or not. “Save as” gives me the file requester but again no option to turn off the preview save.
Any ideas?
