Hello, I want to make a shell shatter. I am using the fx ‘shatter’ from the simulation drop down menu. In the custom shatter map I choose a layer of a broken shape I worked in photoshop but it doesn’t seems to work.I don’t understand how to custom it. Can you choose more than one shape? Do you have any advice to be able to choose your own shattered shapes?
    Thanks

And one quote from that tutorial:
“Real” shatter maps use red, green, blue, yellow, magenta, cyan, white, and black shapes that are carefully placed to produce the desired effect.

They don’t really explain, but I think the point of all the colours is just to make sure no two side-by-side fragments have the same colour.

The simple solution would be to trace the contours in Illustrator and then import this vector file. Each closed path will become its own piece (Shatter will internally assign a different color to each piece automatically).
