Custom Presets “Missing” Error
Hi,
I’d Like to know how to collect an After Effects project file which contains custom presets.
What happens is, when I collect the project and re-open the file all the custom presets working fine but
showing “Missing” error in the “Effect Controls” window.

Are you opening the project on the same installation of AE where you did the collect, or a different one?

No I intent to open the file in another computer.

Any changes you’ve made to the PresetEffects.xml file aren’t going to automatically move with your collected project file. You’ll have to make the same changes on the other computer, or create some kind of installer that does it for you.

It occurs to me that you might just be talking about preset, not changes to PresetEffects file. In that case, you’ll still have to move those presets (.ffx files) to the other computer.

Sorry I was out and wasn’t able to reply quickly.
Actually I did add some lines of code to the PresetEffect.xml. Technically everything works fine when I move the collected project file to another computer. I’m still wondering, if the xml files is not included in the package, how come it works fine, thought still I see the word missing!
