I have a clip, generated from Poser, of a hand gesture that essentially creates a wipe – It starts fully covering the frame than moves off frame, leaving only a matte.
This “hand” video contains an alpha channel / matte (what’s the difference?).
I’m trying to use this video as a key only, for a transition between two full motion video clips. The ‘In’ clip would play inside the hand, and the ‘Out’ clip would play outside the shape of the hand. A wipe, basically – except it just looks like a hand.

I’m trying to use Track Matte between layers 2 & 3. It works for masking the ‘In’ video, but I can’t ever seem to get the ‘Out’ video to pass through.
Any thoughts? I’m unsure of proper layering of the three tracks, as well?
    3: Poser
    2: In Video
    1: Out video

Got it. I placed the Custom Transition in Layer 1 with Effect:Alpha Adjust. The In & Out video are layered above it in layers 2 & 3, and both have the Effect:Track Matte Key applied and pointing to the custom transition in Layer 1.
Than, I experimented with the Alpha settings on all layers until it worked. 🙂
