I have to create two documents in custom (very large) page sizes. I have only worked with standard document sizes before.

When I input the dimensions, the new document opens with a smaller page inside it (like a square within a square, and it looks like the border of a page of paper). I can add text and graphics to the whole document, but I can’t print or pdf anything outside this smaller square.

Quite frustrating, and I’ve wasted a lot of time on it.

What I think is happening is that InDesign is opening a standard 8.5×11 page on top of the large page and is limiting me to that small page.

What do I do to get rid of this small square?

This is a rush job. A client has a small trade show next week and wants a banner over his display. Thanks for ideas.
