Custom Keyboard Shortcut Workflow
Hi,
Slowly adapting to PPro from FCP7. Can someone enlighten me on the customization process of the keyboard shortcuts please? Here’s what I have, with a few repetitive pain points…
1) Start PremierePro, Load the “Adobe Premiere Pro Default” Keyboard Layout Preset. “Save As” “My_Shortcuts”. Exit the dialog box.
2) Call up the Keyboard Shortcut Editor again, which is populated with “My_Shortcuts” — good.
3) Search/locate/edit a hotkey of your choice. Enable the hotkey entry so that you can change it. Type the desired keys and notice: the Keyboard Layout Preset name has changed from “My_Shortcuts” to “Custom”.
4a) If I click “OK”, I’ve added the modification to an un-saved “Custom” layout.
4b) If I want to save this to “My_Shortcuts”, I must click “Save As” and blindly type the layout name that I had (“My_Shortcuts”).Is there a way to have the layout “stick” to “My_Shortcuts” once it’s loaded and build onto that rather than reverting to a virgin “Custom” layout at every edit?
TIA,
