  • Custom HUD icon disappears

Posted by Daniel Couto on August 19, 2014 at 6:48 pm

I have created a rig that uses custom icons in the HUD. But when someone else installs the .lib file, or I do on a different computer, the HUD icons disappear! Is there a way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. (Once you open the scene, highlight Ice CUBE Machine, then click the + icon in the attributes manager so it gets its own attribute window. Then click on the thumbnails switch. The rig will take over the embedded Attribute Manager when thumbnails are enabled.)

Here is a link to the file:

    What thumbnails switch?

If you have the rig in its own attributes manager, there is a thumbnail switch.

Doesn’t work here. The user data doesn’t show up, and I can’t check “thumbnails” because the user data doesn’t show up. It flashes briefly when I click on the object. Using R15.057.

What you have to do is upon opening the file, highlight the Ice CUBE Machine object, then go to the AM, click the + icon so you get the controls in a separate, locked, AM.

Understood. It’s not working here. I highlight the object, hit the + icon, and I get another empty AM window, or rather, an AM in object mode showing the “Ice CUBE Machine” null’s properties.

    The problem has been solved.
