    You’re just modifying the existing PresetEffects.xml file.

    Dan,but how do i apply this modified .xml file as a preset??how do i open it now in Ae 7?Import as….???
    Aren,t Ae presets just .ffx files??

    I don’t understand how this modified .xml file can be opened as a preset as mentioned in step 3!

    In the example, he’s modifying the controls for the preset “Separate XYZ Position”. So once you fire up AE, you just apply that preset from the Effects & Presets palette.

    This pseudo effects are not in the Effects+Presets palette.
    BTW.does it work for you?

    I haven’t tried modifying the .xml file lately but the presets in there show up in my Effects & Presets palette. Do you have “Show Animation Presets” selected in the palette fly-out?
