Curvy Ken Burnss
Posted by John Mendelsohn on January 20, 2015 at 6:37 pmI want to gradually enlarge some footage, Ken Burnishly, straightforwardly — that is, without the little swerves the program seems to imagine I want. How to persuade the program to quit doing that, please?

January 20, 2015 at 6:50 pmYou use Motion. It’s better at that than FCP is.

January 20, 2015 at 8:32 pmThe “swerves” are due to Bezier curves, which you can change.

January 20, 2015 at 9:45 pmAdjusting those beziers in FCP is next to useless. Never as smooth as Motion or After Effects.

January 23, 2015 at 7:14 pmIt is painful to edit those curves within Final Cut, but you can do it in “Image+Wireframe” view, after you’ve made the keyframes there will be path adjusters in the canvas window that you can move around to effect the path of the image. It will drive you crazy though.
All the best,
Rob
